TAXCO-stamped 980 silver from Mexico's mid-century silversmithing revival — a flat silhouette scenic brooch depicting a seated figure with sombrero, a burro on a twisted-wire rope lead, and flanking saguaro and prickly pear cacti, all cast and chased with openwork piercing and a deep oxidized patina.

  • Stamped '980 TAXCO' on both the front base panel and the reverse — 980 denotes 98% pure silver, among the highest purity grades used in Taxco production
  • Separately fabricated twisted wire rope detail attached to the main casting — a small construction flourish that lifts the piece beyond a straight stamping
  • Flat silhouette scenic format with chased surface relief and pierced openwork between design elements — characteristic of Taxco silver production from the 1930s–1950s
  • Heavy oxidized patina throughout accentuates the carved detail; bright silver highlights remain on raised surfaces
