A signed Zuni Sun Face kachina pendant by Ruth Lonjose — sterling silver worked in miniature mosaic inlay, dozens of individually cut stones flush-set at a scale far finer than standard channel inlay, dominated by iridescent opal alongside turquoise, onyx, coral, spiny oyster, and mother of pearl.
- Signed “Ruth Lonjose / Zuni” — engraved script on the back plate, read in hand under raking light. The Lonjose family are established Zuni Pueblo jewelry artists spanning several generations, with an active collector market.
- Miniature mosaic technique: the tiny-tesserae tier of Zuni inlay work — far more labour per square inch than standard channel inlay, and the tier collectors pay up for
- Opal-rich palette: iridescent opal carries the design, with turquoise, black onyx, white mother of pearl, red-orange coral, and spiny oyster completing the Sun Face, double-ring surround, and tabita extension
- Rope-twist sterling silver border separating inner and outer rings; scalloped/crimped edge on flat silver back plate
